One of the benefits of a bioclimatic pergola is privacy and the secluded area that it creates within the garden. This is one of the reasons why they are perfectly suited for townhouses and gardens that are overlooked or adjoined with the neighbours and is also one of the main reasons why famed architect and TV presenter George Clarke wanted a bioclimatic pergola for his own garden.
Every pergola that we manufacture is bespoke and available with an array of options so we specified the pergola based on George’s specific requirements. George wanted the pergola to span the full width of his garden but with full through access and symmetrical clean lines so we sized the new pergola at 4 metres x 4 metres. George also opted for drop down zip blinds to screen off both sides of his pergola, which adds privacy from the neighbours and he took full advantage of the many optional features that we can offer with our bioclimatic pergolas.
Bioclimatic essentially means a remote opening roof but the additional electric features that we can offer ensures that the outside space can be enjoyed and utilised as much more than just a sheltered and private space. This pergola is complete with a built-in speaker, rain sensors which will close the roof louvres and a wind sensor which will bring the blinds up to ensure they never rip or tear in the wind. The built-in heater warms the sheltered space while perimeter LED lighting adds ambience and ensures that the space can be used and enjoyed long into the evenings and even early winter mornings.
